Minimize What Did Jesus Do?

Jesus had dealings with people other people shunned.
John 4:9 “Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.”
Looks to me like there have always been people who are shunned by others. In our time we have many forms of bigotry. If we follow Jesus’ example here we need to look deep in our own hearts and find our common humanity. In this snippet He did not become best buddies with this woman; he did deal with her with respect and common courtesy. I can ask myself how do I treat the person on the other side of my transactions. How do I treat them when there is a problem? The people I meet everyday have similar wants and needs as I do. The person who cut me off in traffic is someone’s child. The person at my door is a member of the family of man. My child who left his backpack on the kitchen counter
