What Did Jesus Do? |

Jesus taught with the authority he held. Mark 1:21-22 “And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.” Jesus received His authority from His father most likely through personal revelation. Often personal revelation comes to us as an answer to prayer or when we meditate or as inspiration. When I receive personal revelation, I can do what Jesus did by acting upon my personal revelation with authority

Jesus called apostles to help him with his work. Matthew 4:19 – 22 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father and followed him.” I love this idea that Jesus asked other people to help Him with His work. Even though there were parts that only He could do, He had others to help him. I imagine that for Him as for me, it was a great comfort to have others to turn to for help.

Jesus walked by the sea. Matthew 4:18 “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.” While Jesus was walking by the sea, He met some people who became important in His life. I can do what Jesus did when I take a walk. You never know what important thing might happen to you while you are on a walk. I find walking to be a type of meditation and an opportunity to listen and talk to God. So do your soul and heart and muscles a favor and go walking like Jesus did.
